What is Systeme.io?
When a platform claims you can build an entire online business for free, it's natural to be sceptical. So we spent 30 days using Systeme.io's free plan to build a real website, grow an email list, and create a digital product.
What's included on the free plan
- 1 custom domain
- Unlimited emails
- Up to 2,000 contacts
- 3 sales funnels (up to 15 steps each)
- 1 blog, 1 online course, 1 membership site
- Stripe and PayPal integration
- No transaction fees
2,000 contacts on the free plan. Most email marketing tools charge €20–30/month for this. Getting it free (with unlimited sends) is genuinely remarkable.
The website builder
Systeme.io's drag-and-drop website builder uses a block system. Not as polished as Squarespace, but it gets the job done. Setting up a homepage took us about 45 minutes from scratch, and the editor is fully responsive.
Verdict: Simple, fast, functional. Perfectly capable for a new business website.
Email marketing
Unlimited email sends, automated sequences, tagging, and segmentation — all on the free plan. The automation builder lets you set up welcome sequences, nurture campaigns, and behaviour-triggered emails without any coding.
Verdict: Excellent for the price (zero). Replaces Mailchimp, ConvertKit, and ActiveCampaign for early-stage founders.
Sales funnels
The free plan gives you 3 funnels with up to 15 steps each. Building a simple lead magnet funnel took us less than an hour.
Verdict: Functional and straightforward. Replaces ClickFunnels for early-stage use cases.
Online courses
You can create and sell one online course on the free plan. Students access content through a clean, mobile-friendly member area.
Verdict: Great for launching your first course. A superb starting point before upgrading to Kajabi or Teachable.
Who should use Systeme.io
Ideal for: First-time founders who want to launch fast without a big budget, solopreneurs selling one digital product or service, founders who want email marketing, a website, and funnels in one place.
Less ideal for: Established businesses needing deep CRM integration, course creators with large libraries, e-commerce businesses with large catalogues.
Our verdict
After 30 days, we had a live website, an email list with an automated welcome sequence, and a live digital product accepting payments — all for €0.
There is no better all-in-one free tool on the market for first-time founders. Start free. Upgrade when your revenue justifies it. That's the smart founder approach.
